The Land Research Trust is a British charity dedicated to education and with a mission to elucidate the relationship between society and nature.

The business of the trust is to interrogate the theories of knowledge that shape our destiny, commission studies and disseminate the results for the benefit of public education and the strengthening of non-government institutions in civil society.

To comply with British law on charitable status, the Land Research Trust is politically neutral, and is objective in the pursuit of knowledge. In plain words, the work sponsored by LRT must be for the benefit of everyone in society. In particular, the Trust is entitled to work for the improvement of those people who are disadvantaged by laws and social processes that may require revision.
